FACE.D’s Ideas Lab is a space for creative, artistic and unexpected projects that bring the wider coffee community into focus from a different angle.

Because coffee people are rarely only coffee people.

We make music. We take photographs. We paint, design, collect, write, create and obsess over things completely unrelated to coffee.

Not Only a Coffee Person puts those other passions in the spotlight.

Our Projects

    Record

    The first project is a vinyl LP featuring 8–12 coffee people from around the world, each contributing a couple of tracks from their personal music collection. FACE.D selects one track from each contributor to create a unique record that becomes a snapshot of the global coffee community. The ambition is to make it annual:
    one LP. One creative theme. A new group of coffee people every year.

    Cover

    The artwork becomes part of the project too: the cover, inner sleeve and vinyl label will feature photography and artwork created by people from within the coffee world.

    Open Call

    We’ll open a call for interest to find musicians, photographers, painters, designers and artists among the coffee community, and invite them to contribute.

    Exhibitions

    And alongside the record, the Ideas Lab could develop annual exhibitions, photography projects, artist collaborations and books — creating a growing archive of the creative lives hiding within the coffee industry.
